As these Hondas that we love age, we are finding that a lot of the OEM hardware has become rusty, which is an eyesore but can also cause problems when removing hardware, which you do not want at the track when you need to get back out as soon as possible!

Our titanium strut top nuts are constructed using aircraft-grade Titanium Alloy, Ti-6AL-4V (Grade 5), which is a material well known for its strength while remaining super lightweight - the perfect racecar combination. During manufacturing, our titanium hardware is forged, and the threads are constructed using a unique rolling process which results in greater resistance to fatigue and combats the risk of galling.

When switching your strut top nuts from steel to titanium, you can expect a weight saving of approximately 45%. Since titanium is a suitable replacement for steel bolts graded up to 8.8, you'll find there is plenty of hardware to swap out!

The final main benefit of swapping out your old steel hardware is the incredible resistance to corrosion that titanium offers. It is not only resistant to regular forms of corrosion you see on the road but also against the most aggressive chemicals and fluids that could come into contact with your hardware.

We've put together a step-by-step guide to help you replace your own strut top nuts easily. However, we recommend a professional installation if you are not confident about doing the job.

1. Open your bonnet and locate the strut top nuts; most older Hondas are easily accessible, but some newer models may need the lower windscreen cowling to be removed; this is usually a few plastic clips to do so.
2. Unscrew your first strut nut that you will be changing with a spanner or ratchet handle with a matching socket.
3. Thread your shiny new titanium strut nut into place until finger-tight.
4. Using a calibrated torque wrench, tighten the new nut to 57nm or 42.5 ft-lbs.
5. Now, you can repeat the steps above, replacing one piece of hardware at a time so as not to unsettle your suspension.
6. Once all hardware has been replaced and you are happy everything is tightened to the correct torque spec, take your car for a drive and then recheck all hardware is still tightened to the correct torque spec.
7. You can now flex your new shiny hardware by taking pictures and tagging us at @exoracinguk.
