The Eventuri Difference
The RS Eventuri system uses our Patent Pending Carbon fibre Housing which provides an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbo tube. Not just another cone filter with a heat shield but a unique design which allows airflow to remain laminar and thus improve the turbo efficiency. The Eventuri Focus RS intake system consists of a number of components engineered to perform a specific purpose and fabricated to the highest of standards. Here are the details for each component and the design ethos behind them:

The standard airbox is open to the engine bay and also has 2 small air feeds from the slam panel. The cold air feeds are very inefficient due to their size and also because they terminate in a chamber above the radiator - with very small openings for ambient air to get into. As a result, a very minimal volume of ambient air flows through the feeds to the filter. A consequence of the open stock system is that it suffers from heat soak, however it does mean that the airbox has good volumetric airflow . So to improve on this by merely using an open cone system becomes pointless - you need 2 elements to improve on the standard design, a smooth transition to the cross-over pipe and a good cold air feed. The standard cross-over pipe itself does not pose a restriction since it has decent bore size which tapers down and matches the stock turbo inlet. Furthermore, being made from plastic it is thermally insulated from the high temperature of the turbo. A larger cross-over pipe will only be beneficial if the turbo is also changed to a larger size for higher boost levels.
Our intake system utilises a unique cold air feed from the undertray allowing the filter to be saturated with ambient air during motion regardless of how hot the engine bay becomes. This coupled with our unique Venturi housing for smooth flow results in a mid-range gain of 15hp and peak RPM gain of 10hp. The dyno graph below shows the comparison between the stock airbox and the Eventuri intake system on a standard car with standard map and exhaust.
