The M240i xDrive is already a bit of a menace straight out of the boxโBMW knew what they were doing when they dropped the B58 into this compact, all-wheel-drive coupe. But for some owners, "stock" is just German forย unfinished.
@remus_m240ix knew that from the jump. What started as a strong stock platform quickly evolved into a finely tuned machineโpart show car, part backroad bruiser. With a mix of performance upgrades, aesthetic touches, and a few carefully chosen power mods,ย this M240i now hits harder, stops quicker, and looks every bit as sharp as it drives.

This build kicks off with a serious airflow upgrade. The MST Performance intake system replaces the restrictive factory airbox with a large open-cone filter and smooth piping for reduced resistance. That means more air, more spool, and a sharper throttle responseโexactly what you want when the boost comes on.

By easing up intake restrictions and helping the turbo breathe more freelyโespecially at lower RPMsโthe MST intake gives the throttle a bit more snap and helps the turbo spool up quicker. But letโs be honest, one of the first things youโll notice is the sound. Under boost, the turbo noise is clearer and more aggressive, giving you that satisfying whoosh that turns every pull into a bit of an occasion.
Itโs not a game-changing power mod on its own, but as part of a full airflow setup, it brings sharper response, a livelier soundtrack, and a more connected driving experience.
Front & Side Aero Upgrades โ Styling with Intent

The first thing you'll notice about this M240i is how planted it looksโand thatโs no accident. Aย front splitter brings the nose lower to the ground, sharpening the carโs front-end profile and profile and giving you some aero points, however subtle they might be.ย

The side skirts carry that aggression through the bodyline, tightening up the overall stance without overdoing it. Together, they give the car a much more cohesive lookโOEM+ with a bit of attitude.

Rear Styling Enhancements โ Subtle But Strong

Out back, the upgraded diffuser gives the M240i a wider, more aggressive rear presence. It's not just a visual changeโit helps clean up airflow from underneath the car, too. That said, it definitely looks like it means business.

Topping it off is a boot lip spoiler that finishes the rear profile with just the right amount of edge. Itโs not oversized or showy, but it makes a differenceโone of those upgrades you appreciate more every time you walk away from the car and glance back.

Power is fun. Brakes are serious. Thatโs why this build uses DBAโs T4000 Series performance discs, paired with matched pads for road and spirited driving. These rotors are known for their heat management techโincluding their signature โKangaroo Pawโ venting (yes, thatโs a thing) and thermographic paint markings for visual wear tracking.

The result? Far less fade, better pedal feel, and more confidence when youโre really on it. Whether youโre pushing hard on a Sunday or just want a safer daily, this is the kind of braking setup that punches above its price.
No Glam Shots, Just Serious Gains โ The Hidden Upgrades
Not every mod makes for a pretty pictureโbut that doesnโt make them any less essential. Some of the most critical upgrades on this M240i are hidden beneath the surface, quietly transforming how the car performs under pressure.
The BorgWarner catless downpipe is the first domino in the power chain, allowing the turbo to spool up faster and breathe freely. That extra flow is matched by a Remus resonator delete and rear muffler, giving the exhaust note a deeper, angrier growl without tipping into obnoxious. It's the kind of sound that tells you this isnโt your average 2 Series.
At the core of it all is a Stage 2+ BM3 OTS tune, giving the car a proper recalibration to match the hardware. With multimaps enabled, the owner can switch power profiles depending on driving conditionsโwhether it's daily cruising or full send.
Helping all this newfound power stay in check are two underrated heroes: a CTS Turbo boost pipe and steel braided brake lines. The former replaces the factory plastic pipe with a reinforced metal unit that holds boost reliably under load. The latter firms up pedal feel and improves modulation when paired with the upgraded DBA brakes.
We might not have photos of these hidden upgradesโbut trust us, theyโre what take this build from good to great. Under the skin, itโs all business.
Why We Love This Build

What we admire about @remus_m240ixโs M240i is that itโs not just fast for the sake of being fastโitโs balanced, well thought out, and daily-driveable without losing its edge. Each mod serves a purpose, from the improved airflow up front to the braking confidence out back.
Itโs a modern, clean build that embraces both function and formโexactly what we love to see at ML Performance and Xatrix.
Got a Build to Feature?

Huge thanks to @remus_m240ix for sharing this brilliant M240i xDrive build with us. Itโs got everything we loveโclean styling, serious performance, and the kind of thoughtful modding that shows both taste and technical know-how. Itโs always a pleasure to feature builds that strike a balance between aggression and daily usability, and this one nails it.
If youโve built something special with parts from ML Performance, weโd love to see itโespecially if youโve teamed up with a trusted workshop like Xatrix to bring it to life. Whether itโs a weekend warrior, a daily sleeper, or a track-focused monster, weโre here for the stories, the specs, and the passion behind the project.
